Accreditations
Faith. Excellence. Community.

The Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA), in collaboration with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), provides joint accreditation for Catholic schools in California and Hawaii. After an accreditation review, both WASC and WCEA granted Nativity Catholic School a full term of accreditation for six years, through June 30, 2012. WASC and WCEA use accreditation to:

  1. Foster excellence in elementary education.

  2. Encourage school improvement through a process of continuous self-study and evaluation.

  3. Assure the school and its public that the school:

  4. a. Has clearly defined and appropriate educational goals and objectives;

  5. b.Has established conditions under which their achievement can reasonably be expected

Nativity Catholic School is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA). WCEA accredits Catholic elementary and secondary schools in nine western states (26 archdioceses) and the U.S. Territory of Guam. WCEA co-accredits and is in partnership with three regional agencies (WASC, NAAS, NCA CASI) and two private agencies (CAIS and HAIS). WCEA began in 1957 in San Francisco and has a long and successful history of assisting school improvement through the accreditation process.
