Admissions Policy

Every person, as a child of God, regardless of race, condition, or age has equal dignity and an inalienable right to an education. Therefore, no qualified student will be denied admission to this school on the basis of sex, race, or national origin.

Nativity Catholic School, mindful of its primary mission as an effective instrument of the  educational ministry of the Church and as a witness to the love of Christ for all, does not discriminate in its admission of students on the basis of gender, race, or national origin. The school does not discriminate in the administration of its educational policies, scholarship, athletic, and other school programs.

Nativity accepts and enrolls students who desire to be in a program of high academic and ethical expectations.  Applicants are assessed and reviewed for admission without regard to race, color, national or ethnic origin.  Nativity Catholic School embraces applicants from all faiths but holds the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church in its curriculum.

Applicants for admission follow a process established by the school.  This process includes:

  1. 1.The completion of an initial application package;

  2. 2.Payment of an application fee;

  3. 3.Testing and assessment (usually for Kindergarten students);

  4. 4.Review of previous school records and standardized tests/assessments (where available), and;

  5. 5.Principal approval.

Through the admissions process, we try to identify families whose children will benefit from the educational program at Nativity Catholic School, seek education in a faith-filled context, and support the Nativity Catholic School community.

State and local school district regulations require that Kindergarten students reach the age of five by August 31 of the year admitted.  Exceptions to this requirement are not frequent, and are granted by the Principal after an assessment and thorough review.

Current students at Nativity Catholic School follow a process established by the school for re-enrollment.  This process includes the completion of a re-enrollment request form, and Principal approval.

Nativity Catholic School accepts students who are capable of succeeding within the school’s established program.  Students must be academically capable of successfully meeting the standards set by the school.  Nativity Catholic School does not accept students with previous behavior issues.  Nativity Catholic School reserves the right to accept or decline any request of admission or re-enrollment. Final decisions to admit or not admit are made by the Principal in his sole discretion and are not subject to review.

Admitted students are placed in appropriate grade levels as space permits.  Families of admitted/re-enrolled students must complete the school registration process.  This includes payment of a family registration and general fee, and completion of post- admissions forms (including agreements for payment of tuition).  Registered families are expected to comply with all policies set forth in the School Handbook, without exception.
